Do
you want to sing again?
Are
you tentative because you’ve not sung for years? Or are
you looking for more variety in your singing?
Well,
we're a friendly and supportive choir who would love you to come
and sing with us.
Cat’s
Chorus is a small
group of amateur singers who meet every Monday between
18:15 and 19:45 in Crowmarsh,
near Wallingford,
Oxfordshire.
Most
of us have come back to singing after a break many years so you
will be in good company! Some of
our singers belong to other, larger choirs and like the challenge
of singing with less people. For others this is the only singing
they do all week, perhaps with the exception of singing in the
shower or in the car!
We’re
looking for enthusiastic people of any singing ability to
help us grow the group to
a full compliment of 16. You don't need to be trained, or to be
able to read music, just have a love for singing and want to give
it a go.
We
sing songs in 4 part harmonies and unaccompanied (a capella). This
type of singing can be challenging, but that's why we love it!
We
mostly write our own arrangements in a variety of popular
styles including
Jazz, Latin, Blues and Folk. We have had a few public performances
so far (in Benson and Oxford) and are actively seeking opportunities
to perform
in the South Oxfordshire area.
If you are a female
singer who can sing Soprano, Mezzo Soprano or Alto or a male singer
who can sing Baritone, then come along and try us out. And,
if you’re not sure where you fit in, come along anyway and
we’ll soon let you know!
Our
singers come from all over Oxfordshire: Oxford,
Wallingford, Crowmarsh, Benson, Henley, Abingdon & Didcot. If
you're tempted, come and sing for FREE!
